About Institute for Women Of Aviation Worldwide
Women Of Aviation Worldwide (WOAW) is a global initiative celebrating and promoting the achievements of women in the aviation and space industries. Launched to commemorate the world’s first female pilot license awarded to Raymonde de Laroche on March 8, 1910, WOAW seeks to inspire girls and women of all ages to pursue careers in aviation.
The campaign includes various events and challenges held during the Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week, such as the Fly It Forward® Challenge, which encourages experienced aviators to share their passion for flying with newcomers. Participants can also take part in the Pink Paper Plane Challenge™ and various fundraising events aimed at supporting educational opportunities for women and girls.
Through these activities, WOAW fosters a supportive community that addresses the gender imbalance prevalent in the aerospace field while celebrating the contributions of women through awards and recognitions. Join us from March 4-10, 2024, to celebrate innovation and inclusivity in aviation!
