About Women of Egypt
Women of Egypt Network (WoEgypt) is a social enterprise that is dedicated to empowering Egyptian women and advancing gender equality. As a digital advocacy movement, their main mission is to break down barriers and provide support to women in various aspects of their lives. WoEgypt focuses on four pillars: equality, opportunity, education, and safety/security.
They have created a platform to showcase the stories of successful women who have overcome challenges and created their own opportunities. Through their campaigns and publications, they raise awareness about social issues that affect women and provide a safe space for women to voice their concerns and thoughts. Education is another key focus for WoEgypt, with a particular emphasis on vocational training for young girls.
They believe that by providing education and training, women can reach their full potential personally, professionally, and socially. WoEgypt also runs campaigns to support and encourage young girls to pursue their dreams. Safety and security is a fundamental pillar of women's empowerment, and WoEgypt actively fights against cybercrimes targeted at women and girls, with a specific focus on sextortion.
They provide information, support, and resources to help women protect themselves and seek help when needed. Through media exposure and advocacy campaigns, WoEgypt aims to change the negative perception of Egyptian women and promote a culture of empowerment and equality. One unique aspect of WoEgypt is that it is a green advocacy movement, operating predominantly online through remote working models.
Their goal is not only to bring about policy changes but to create a lasting cultural change that truly empowers women. This vision requires dedication, persistence, and financial resources, and WoEgypt welcomes volunteers and donations to support their mission
