Women on the Move (WEMov) is an international network dedicated to enhancing the visibility and participation of women migrants in the construction of Europe. Funded by COST (CA19112) and supported by the Université de Picardie Jules Verne, WEMov engages over 52 researchers across various disciplines, including history, sociology, economics, and political science. This transdisciplinary collaboration aims to identify the challenges and strengths of women migrants throughout history and in contemporary contexts.
WEMov offers an array of resources, including publications, documentaries, and virtual exhibitions, designed to educate and inform on the dynamics of female migration. Their activities include co-teaching initiatives, training schools, and MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), aimed at fostering knowledge and research in the field. Additionally, WEMov works alongside stakeholders like EU Commissioner for Equality Helena Dalli to advocate for the integration and rights of women migrants, addressing critical issues such as gender discrimination and labor market challenges.
