The Woodland Carbon Code is the quality assurance standard for UK woodland creation projects which address climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. It empowers landowners, organisations and businesses to address climate change by creating and supporting woodland projects across the UK. Backed by government, the forest industry and carbon market experts, the Woodland Carbon Code provides independently verified carbon units which landowners can use to generate income and organisations and companies can use to offset their emissions. It is delivered by Scottish Forestry on behalf of the Forestry Commission, Welsh Government and the Northern Ireland Forest Service.
