Välinge Innovation AB develops flooring technologies and supports manufacturers in bringing innovative products to market. Founded in 1993, the company pioneered glue-free click flooring, enabling floorboards to be installed mechanically without adhesive. Its portfolio spans flooring, furniture and panel technologies, as well as machines and components.

Woodura is Välinge’s reinforced real-wood flooring technology, combining a thin natural wood layer with a wood-fibre powder mixture and a high-density fibreboard core. Heat and pressure fuse the layers, creating a surface designed to retain wood’s appearance while improving resistance to dents, scratches and impact. Välinge reports that Woodura products can be up to three times stronger than typical hardwood, and that the process can yield ten times more flooring from the same amount of lumber than traditional engineered wood flooring. The technology also makes use of wood powder that might otherwise become waste.

Woodura floors can be finished with lacquer or oil and produced in varied colours, styles and larger dimensions.
