About The Woonsocket Call
Established in 1892, The Woonsocket Call has been serving the Blackstone Valley of Rhode Island and Massachusetts for over a century. Founded by Samuel E. Hudson and Andrew J.
McConnell, The Call was first published as The Evening Call and quickly gained popularity. The newspaper's initial edition sold out, demonstrating the strong support of the local community. Today, The Call remains dedicated to providing comprehensive news coverage, serving the Rhode Island towns of Woonsocket, North Smithfield, Cumberland, Lincoln, Burrillville, and Glocester.
It also serves the Massachusetts towns of Blackstone, Millville, Bellingham, Uxbridge, and Franklin.
