DigitalService is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German federal government and an internal digitalization partner to the country’s public administration. We have been designing, developing, and operating cloud-native digital solutions since 2020 aligned with the needs of the public, businesses, and the administration. We work closely with the federal government and combine delivery, consulting, and empowerment to ensure an efficient, user-focused, and state-of-the-art administration. We are hiring! About DigitalService
Work4Germany is a fellowship program supporting new ways of working in Germany’s federal administration and helping build a capable, future-ready digital government. Since 2020, it has brought experienced experts from the private and nonprofit sectors together with federal civil servants and leaders for six-month collaborations on practical projects.
Fellows contribute expertise in modern work methods, while administrative teams work with them to address challenges in collaboration, redesign processes and develop more agile, collaborative and skills-based practices. The program aims to strengthen project and product management, teamwork and leadership, improving how public-sector initiatives are delivered. Participants receive support from Work4Germany’s experienced fellowship team and take part in tailored opportunities to exchange ideas.
The program serves both prospective fellows and federal authorities seeking fresh perspectives and new approaches to internal or cross-organizational work. Its wider ambition is to foster more effective cooperation and enable civil servants to work with greater autonomy, responsibility and collaboration. Work4Germany is preparing for a future cohort, though the next round has not yet been announced.
