About Working Class History
Working Class History is an independent history and media project focused on the people’s movements, struggles, and everyday experiences that are often missing from mainstream accounts. Guided by the belief that history is made by ordinary people rather than only by kings and politicians, it shares stories of workers, Indigenous communities, protest movements, and collective action around the world.
Its work includes the Working Class History podcast, with long-form episodes, interviews, miniseries, and discussions of books and historical events. The project also publishes written stories and “On This Day” features, supported by sources and maps, and offers a searchable Stories archive and an interactive map of historical events. Recent subjects include the UK’s 1926 general strike, Argentina’s 2001 uprising, labour organising, and Indigenous protests in Ecuador.
Working Class History invites listeners and readers to support its work through Patreon, where supporters can access exclusive content and benefits. Its online shop sells books, posters, clothing, and other items, including books on Indigenous struggles.
