Workington ASC

Workington Swimming Club is a community swimming club focused on making swimming an enjoyable and social experience. Based in Workington, it welcomes swimmers and families and provides information for new joiners, including joining details, fees and training times. The club supports swimmers through land training, nutrition guidance, awards, club kit and welfare resources for swimmers and parents.

Competition is an important part of the club’s activities. Workington Swimming Club organises club competitions and galas, including its annual Presidents Gala, which brings together swimmers from the club and visiting teams. It also hosts the Curtis-Glencross Distance Meet, an annual event established in memory of club members Roick Curtis and Sarah Glencross, and opened to other Cumbrian clubs. The club shares event conditions, schedules, entry information and results for participants.

For adults, the Masters programme offers coach-led swimming sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as a Sunday morning lane. Volunteers, officials and coaches contribute to the club’s events and activities.
