About World BEYOND War
World BEYOND War is a global nonviolent movement dedicated to ending war and establishing a just and sustainable peace. Founded in 2014 by co-founders David Hartsough and David Swanson, the organization seeks to abolish the institution of war itself, not just the current conflicts. The belief is that war should never be considered a viable option, just as slavery should never be acceptable.
Instead, World BEYOND War advocates for a global security system based on international law, diplomacy, collaboration, human rights, and nonviolent action. Through education, activism, and media engagement, the organization dispels myths surrounding war and works towards its abolition. World BEYOND War operates with a decentralized grassroots model, coordinating chapters in 14 countries and partnering with 97 affiliates worldwide.
