About World Blind Union
The World Blind Union (WBU) is the globally recognized organization that represents the 253 million blind and partially sighted individuals across 190 member countries. As the voice of the blind, we advocate for their rights and needs, engaging with governments and international bodies to address issues related to blindness and low vision. Our mission encompasses bringing together national and international organizations for blind individuals, as well as those providing services for people with low vision, to work towards improving the quality of life for the visually impaired.
With a global structure consisting of six regions, each with its own President and volunteer executive team, we cater to the unique needs of our local members.
