World Figure Sport

World Figure Sport (WFS) is a global brand and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to skating as an athletic art. Headquartered in Lake Placid, New York, it promotes figure and fancy skating, disciplines that combine movement, artistry, and creative patterns on ice. WFS presents the World Figure and Fancy Skating Championships and offers opportunities for skaters and audiences to engage with the sport.

Its programs include skating technique, history, research, and academic classes, along with skating exams across multiple levels. The organization also provides live online global classes, workshops, inclusive skating activities, and events such as championships, team competitions, and art contests. Beyond skating instruction and competition, WFS supports creative pursuits through fine art, performing and decorative arts, music, drawing, painting, and culinary offerings. Its resources include archives, a skating hall of fame, podcasts, photo collections, and publications that explore the sport’s history and artistic traditions.
