The WorldGenWeb Project, established in 1996 by Dale Schneider, aims to provide a comprehensive online resource for genealogists worldwide. The project's goal is to have every country represented by a website hosted by researchers who are either residents of that country or familiar with its resources. Over the years, the WorldGenWeb Project has recruited numerous volunteers and become a trusted platform for international genealogy research.
The project is organized into 11 regions, with each region further divided into countries and individual provinces, states, or counties. The WorldGenWeb Project Advisory Board oversees the day-to-day operations, while Regional Coordinators are responsible for their respective websites and recruiting Country Coordinators. With over 400 active project websites, the WorldGenWeb Project is continuously seeking volunteers to host county, country, or regional websites.
