The World Mosquito Program is a global initiative owned by Monash University, focused on protecting communities worldwide from mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, Zika, yellow fever, and chikungunya. Since 2011, they have been using a groundbreaking method called Wolbachia to reduce the transmission of these diseases by mosquitoes. Through international pilot studies and multiple trials, it has been proven that the Wolbachia method is safe and effective in decreasing the risk of disease spread across entire cities and regions.

With operations expanding rapidly, the program collaborates with local governments and communities globally to implement their Wolbachia method. Currently, they have projects underway in 13 countries, and their Wolbachia mosquitoes have already protected almost 11 million people. The World Mosquito Program's vision is to improve health conditions and empower local communities to combat mosquito-borne diseases, easing the burden for thousands of at-risk communities worldwide
