Star Sailors League (SSL) is a premier global sailing circuit established in 2012 by a coalition of Olympians, amateur sailors, and sailing officials. Guided by the motto By sailors for sailors, SSL prioritizes the athletes and their skills in delivering exhilarating inshore sailing experiences. The league promotes the sport's accessibility through exciting events that attract both participants and viewers.
The SSL is also supported by the Sailing Athletes Foundation (SAF), a Swiss non-profit organization that champions Olympic values and alleviates barriers for competitive sailors. SAF plays a critical role in ensuring financial stability for the SSL's initiatives, providing fleets of boats worldwide, and supporting athlete development programs.
Key events include the SSL Gold Cup, an international championship featuring numerous nations and elite competitors, and the SSL Nations Circuit, structured over four years to determine the best national teams. With rankings that reflect athletes' performances and foster a competitive spirit, the SSL stands out as the heartbeat of modern sailing, encouraging global participation and excitement.
