World Taekwondo is a traditional martial arts school serving Fairfield County, Connecticut, with studios in Fairfield and Monroe/Trumbull. It teaches Kukkiwon-certified Taekwondo to students of all ages, from Little Tigers aged three to four through adults. Programs are also available for children and teenagers, alongside private lessons and tournament preparation.
Training covers kicks, forms (poomsae), sparring, and self-defense, following the official Kukkiwon curriculum. Students attend classes twice a week, with belt testing held every two months. New students begin with a one-on-one, half-hour Private Assessment Lesson to help identify an appropriate starting point.
The school’s studios are led by Master Kwangjin Ha, a fifth-degree black belt, and Master Gunsoo Kim, a fourth-degree black belt. Lessons combine martial arts instruction with an emphasis on courtesy, respect, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and determination. World Taekwondo aims to help students build fitness, focus, confidence, and practical skills in a supportive community, while encouraging values that carry beyond the training mat.
