Western Cape International Rugby Institute (WCIRI) is a UXi Sport academy in South Africa that combines high-performance rugby development with education and individualised student monitoring. Its mission is to expand inclusive opportunities in the sports economy and prepare athletes for employment, leadership and community life, as well as competition. The institute offers sporting and academic programmes, including part-time and junior rugby academies and a women’s rugby programme.

Students receive coaching, performance training, player welfare support and educational guidance, with an emphasis on physical, mental and emotional readiness. WCIRI also aims to identify promising players early and develop their rugby and life skills under specialist coaches. Its programmes are designed to create pathways to provincial and domestic competitions, junior international rugby and opportunities overseas.
