The South African Wrestling Federation (SAWF) is the primary governing body for wrestling in South Africa, proudly affiliated with the United World Wrestling Organisation and recognized by SASCOC. The SAWF is dedicated to promoting and developing wrestling across the nation, supporting athletes from grassroots to elite levels. With thirteen provinces under its wing, the federation organizes a variety of competitions, including National Championships and local tournaments, serving as a vital platform for wrestling talent.

To ensure athletes are well-prepared for prestigious events such as the Olympic Games, the SAWF offers elite training programs and development camps that include coaching clinics and technical workshops. The federation actively promotes wrestling through outreach initiatives aimed at schools and community centers, fostering broader participation in the sport. Committed to gender equality, the SAWF provides equal opportunities for female wrestlers and adheres to international standards, ensuring South African wrestling competes effectively on a global stage.
