Wrestling Without Borders

Wrestling Without Borders (WWB) is an international organization of wrestling clubs and individuals dedicated to promoting the sport and creating inclusive opportunities to participate. Its roots date to the 1990 Gay Games in Vancouver, where club leaders from around the world came together to establish shared standards and procedures for future Games. The organization expanded its mission in 2006 and adopted the name Wrestling Without Borders in 2024.

WWB supports clubs in offering safe, welcoming, fun, and competitive wrestling experiences. Its activities include freestyle wrestling and grappling for adults, with opportunities to connect with local clubs and take part in sanctioned tournaments. These events follow United World Wrestling rules, modified to encourage participation, inclusion, and safety. Membership is open to individuals and legitimate wrestling clubs committed to serving wrestlers of all ages, races, genders, and orientations in a safe, non-elitist environment. Members are also expected to follow the organization’s policies and procedures and the stated standards of the Federation of Gay Games.
