Writers Inspire

Great Writers Inspire is a transformative online educational resource created by the University of Oxford, dedicated to making literary-themed learning materials accessible worldwide. The platform boasts thousands of resources, including audio and video lectures, downloadable electronic texts, ebooks, and contextual material, all designed to inspire and enrich the study of literature.

Curated by leading scholars from the Faculty of English Language and Literature, these resources are either in the public domain or available under Creative Commons licenses, enabling educators, students, and lifelong learners to reuse and adapt content freely for educational purposes.

In addition to its extensive collections categorized by writer or theme, the initiative has recently expanded with projects like Postcolonial Writers Make Worlds, highlighting contemporary Black and Asian British authors. Great Writers Inspire not only provides a wealth of knowledge but also fosters a community of literary enthusiasts, encouraging collaboration and discovery in the world of words and ideas.
