About Wiener Rotes Kreuz
The Vienna Red Cross (Wiener Rotes Kreuz) is the Vienna branch of the Austrian Red Cross, providing emergency response, health and social support, education, and opportunities for community involvement. Its services include ambulance and emergency response, event medical cover staffed by paramedics and emergency doctors, and disaster relief. The organization also supports people experiencing homelessness and offers care and assistance services, including meal delivery. For individuals seeking to prepare for emergencies, it provides first-aid courses and promotes the Emergency Information Can, which stores essential personal and health details for responders.
The Vienna Red Cross offers training through its education centre and specialist event-safety courses, including a certificate programme and workshops for event organisers and related professionals. Its work is supported by paid staff, volunteers, civilian-service participants, memberships, donations, and donations of goods or blood. The Art Collectors Club raises funds for national disaster relief through limited-edition art. The organization also shares news, publications, and annual reports, and provides information for people seeking help, volunteering, or learning more about its work.
