WRNS Studio is the architectural firm behind the transformation of Microsoft Silicon Valley Campus. This private campus in Mountain View, California, is not only designed to cater to Microsoft's employees but also extends its benefits to the broader community. The project, completed in 2020, reflects Microsoft's mission by creating a new kind of workplace that promotes the well-being of both people and the environment.

WRNS Studio took a holistic and ambitious approach to the design, incorporating sustainable and resilient strategies. The campus features a blackwater system, thermal storage, and a high-performing envelope to reduce water consumption, energy demand, and carbon footprint. The renovation and expansion increased the campus capacity by 20%, accommodating over 2,000 employees in a 643,000 square foot space.

With its two-story layout, occupiable living roof, and inviting courtyards, the campus encourages movement, interaction, and user comfort. From operable windows to movable walls, every aspect of design prioritizes the well-being of the employees. The project is also aspiring to achieve LEED Platinum, LBC Petal, WELL v2 Pilot, and ILFI Net Zero Carbon certifications.
