Y2Mate is an independent online tool for searching YouTube recordings and converting selected videos into downloadable audio or video files. Users can enter an artist, song title, or other keywords to find a recording, or paste a YouTube video link to start conversion directly. Once they select a result, they can review the available formats and choose MP3 for audio or MP4 when they want to keep the video, subject to the options offered for that upload and provider.

The service guides users through searching, choosing a recording and format, and saving the selected file. It is accessible through a browser, including on phones, although download availability and saving steps can vary by device, browser, and source. Y2Mate also features trending music searches, related-song routes, multilingual interface options, a blog with practical download articles, and FAQ information. The site notes that conversion cannot improve the original recording’s quality and advises users to download only content they are authorized to use, in accordance with the source platform’s rules.
