Dignity Funerals

W.S. Harrison Funeral Directors has supported families across Newcastle and Tyne & Wear since 1920. Founded by William Samuel Harrison, the business has remained family-led for four generations and is now part of Dignity Funerals. Its local teams combine knowledge of the communities they serve with the training and support of a national provider.

With funeral homes in areas including Benton, Gosforth, Ponteland, Westerhope, Shields Road and Whitley Bay, W.S. Harrison helps families arrange funerals that reflect their wishes. Services can be traditional, alternative or simple, and are available for people of every faith as well as those with no religious affiliation. The team can guide families through practical arrangements, explain what is required and what is optional, and accommodate arrangements by phone or in person. Local funeral directors are available around the clock, and families can ask about short-notice arrangements and payment options.

W.S. Harrison also provides advice and guidance on what to do after a death, choosing a funeral director, funeral types and the arrangements involved.
