Washington-St. Tammany Electric (WSTE) is a member-owned, non-profit organization committed to providing its members with exceptional service at the best possible cost. We proudly serve the areas of Washington, St.

Tammany, and Tangipahoa Parishes, as well as the southern part of Marion County in Mississippi. With a rich history, WSTE has evolved from a small organization with no members or electric lines to a thriving cooperative with 128 employees and over 50,000 accounts. Our extensive infrastructure includes 183 miles of transmission lines, over 4,905 miles of distribution lines, 7 transmission substations, 2 transmission switching stations, and 30 distribution substations.

At WSTE, we prioritize affordability, consistently offering lower rates to our members for the past decade. On average, residential members use approximately 1500 kilowatt-hours of electricity monthly, saving over $708 annually compared to households served by investor-owned utilities. As part of the largest electric utility network in the nation, WSTE is one of more than 930 local systems in 47 states, giving us access to support during critical events like Hurricane Katrina.
