WTIP Community Radio

WTIP North Shore Community Radio, located in Grand Marais, Minnesota, is the oldest community radio station on the North Shore of Lake Superior. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, WTIP provides an important platform for information-gathering, discussion, and expression for visitors and residents spread out over 1,500 square miles of woods and waters. Founded in April 1998 by a small group of pioneering volunteers, WTIP has continually grown and evolved to meet the needs and demands of the community.

WTIP offers a diverse range of programs designed to educate, inform, and entertain. From timely and accurate reports of local and state events to music and entertainment for their audience, their program schedule is often described as having something for everyone. In addition to their on-air programming, WTIP actively engages with the community through outreach efforts and partnerships, working to increase the well-being of the area.

WTIP's mission is to provide a reliable source of news, weather, and community happenings, while also serving as a forum for discussions on public issues. They are committed to promoting the general well-being of the area and training local residents to use radio as a medium for self-expression.
