The Voivodeship Society for Combating Disability (Wojewódzkie Towarzystwo Walki z Kalectwem) is an organisation working to support and engage people with disabilities in Opole and the surrounding region. Its activities focus on encouraging participation in community life, promoting people’s abilities and achievements, and helping individuals who may not know what opportunities are available to them.

A central part of the Society’s work is organising inclusive public events, including the annual Opole Days of People with Disabilities and the Jarmark Niezwykłości. These gatherings bring together participants, families, carers and local institutions for performances, exhibitions, recreational activities and opportunities to connect. They also feature information points on disability-related matters, demonstrations of rehabilitation and assistive equipment, and activities such as accessible games, sports events and guided walks. The Society’s programmes showcase artwork, crafts and performances created by people with disabilities, while encouraging social inclusion across generations. Its events also provide practical demonstrations and health checks, including blood pressure and glucose measurements.
