Wuchi Wami packages, brands, markets and distributes local raw and organic Honey. The honey is sourced from the wild Miombo forests of North Western Zambia. It is processed through its registered cooperative that has 2,500 farmers participating in training and sustainable beekeeping through an out-growers scheme model. It cuts across north western with 500 farmers fully trained, equipped with modern beehives, PPE and buckets. They use modern beehives made from easy to plant pine, preserving the miombo trees that are destroyed in the traditional beehive production. Deforestation is further reduced by providing an alternative income source for women and men engaged in charcoal burning. The model provides an alternative income to women from charcoal burning. Wuchi Wami processes, brands and distributes this locally produced raw, organic and unpasteurised honey by an out?growers scheme registered under Kwasha indimi cooperative in Mwinilunga. This honey is then distributed to their clients through the chain stores country wide.
