About World Union for Progressive Judaism
Wupj is the international umbrella organization for the Reform, Liberal, Progressive, and Reconstructionist Jewish movements. With over 1. 8 million members in more than 1,250 congregations across 50 countries, Wupj represents the largest body of Jews seeking a traditional yet contemporary expression of their Jewish identity.
Headquartered in Jerusalem, Wupj aims to provide all Jews with access to a vibrant and personally meaningful Jewish life that inspires them spiritually. Wupj offers a wide range of programs and services to support its members. They focus on community building, leadership development, and education.
Their initiatives include the Torah Scroll Exchange, WUPJ International Shlichut opportunities, and the Center for Leadership Development and Education. In addition, Wupj supports various youth engagement programs such as Netzer Olami and Tamar for Young Adults. Progressive Judaism, championed by Wupj, promotes equality for all Jews regardless of gender or sexual orientation.
