Wutan Brighton is a martial arts school teaching Kung Fu and Tai Chi in Brighton since 2001. Part of Wutan International, the school offers relaxed, friendly classes for complete beginners and experienced martial artists alike. Students are encouraged to train at their own pace while building fitness and developing practical skills.
Classes take place every Tuesday at the Lower Hall, Hanover Community Centre. Tai Chi runs from 7:30 to 8:30pm and features gentle, flowing movements suited to all ages and fitness levels. Kung Fu follows from 8:30 to 9:45pm, offering a more energetic workout. Its teaching includes Wing Chun, Long Fist, Praying Mantis, Choy Li Fut and weapons. Tai Chi study covers five traditional styles, as well as Qigong, Sensing Hands, Hsing I and Pa Gua.
Wutan Brighton’s classes combine strength, stamina, flexibility and balance with partner-based self-defence practice. They also emphasize concentration, relaxation and discipline. Instructors regularly train with UK school head They Soon Tuan, helping keep the teaching and forms connected to the Wutan tradition.
