Aixiña is an association supporting people with disabilities, with a history of social action dating back to 1970. It promotes social participation through activities, workshops, courses and leisure programs, alongside rehabilitation-oriented care for people who need ongoing support. Its services include the Aixiña Day Centre, which serves people with physical disabilities, cerebral palsy and related needs, and the Alborexo Day Centre, which supports older people with neurocognitive disorders. The Domingo Gómez Freire residential centre provides accommodation for people with disabilities and has 20 places, 15 of them arranged with the administration.

Through its Special Employment Centre, Aixiña also offers work and services across several areas. Its catering and restaurant service, operating since 2001, serves businesses, educational centres and other organisations in Ourense and elsewhere in Galicia, with catering, delivery and dining facilities. Its workshops produce handcrafted items and personalised trophies, and undertake manufacturing, hanger classification and work involving profiles, blinds and curtains. Aixiña combines care, employment and community involvement in support of people with disabilities.
