xShare is a pioneering initiative focused on transforming health data sharing across Europe, aiming to enhance universal access and empower individuals through digital health solutions. The project addresses critical challenges in the healthcare landscape, such as the lack of user-friendly access to personal health data, difficulties in cross-border data sharing for healthcare professionals, and regulatory hurdles faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). By implementing the xShare Yellow Button, users can effortlessly manage their health data through Electronic Health Record exchange frameworks (EHRxF), exercising their rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The vision aligns with the EU’s Digital Compass 2030 goal of fostering a human-centered digital economy in the health sector. xShare actively engages with a diverse range of stakeholders, including policymakers, healthcare providers, tech startups, and patients' organizations, to create a cohesive ecosystem that promotes the seamless exchange of high-quality health information, bolstering research, innovation, and collaborative health management across Europe
