XYZIR builds autonomous sensing hardware for defence and critical infrastructure. Equipment that keeps watch over terrain with no power, no network and nobody on site. We work in defence and security technology, focusing on unattended ground sensors and perimeter intrusion detection. We build for the people who guard terrain for a living, armed forces and the owners of energy sites, railways, airports and data centres. Our first product is SentinelNode, a buried sensor node that detects people and vehicles and sends the alert to a map. It is in development and not yet field-tested. Read more at www.xyzir.com. XYZIR is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and was founded in 2023 by Ahmed Khalaf. We draw, design and model our own solutions, and keep as much as possible in house: circuits, firmware, and enclosures are designed and prototyped on our own bench. For a security product, knowing every part of what we build matters. If you work with perimeter security or critical infrastructure and want to compare notes, get in touch through the website. Twenty minutes is enough.

XYZIR is a Danish defence technology company based in Copenhagen, developing autonomous sensing hardware for defence and critical infrastructure. Founded in 2024, the company designs and prototypes its circuits, firmware and enclosures in-house, with a focus on understanding and controlling the components behind its security products.
Its first product, SentinelNode, is an in-development ground sensor designed to monitor terrain such as borders, pipelines, railways and substations where power, network access and on-site staff may be unavailable. The buried node is designed to detect vibration, sound, magnetic changes and movement, then classify activity locally as a person, vehicle or noise. Rather than transmit raw data, it sends alerts via LoRa to a gateway and map-based overview.
SentinelNode is designed to operate without replaceable batteries, using a solar panel and supercapacitor, and to support dense deployment, node authentication, encryption and tamper detection. XYZIR is also designing for frozen ground and Nordic winter light. The product has been bench-tested, while its firmware remains in development and field trials have not yet taken place.
