Y44 Aviation

Y44 Aviation B.V. is an aircraft rental business based at Maastricht Aachen Airport (EHBK). It offers a well-maintained Piper PA-28-180 Cherokee Challenger for hire by licensed private pilots. The four-seat aircraft is equipped for instrument flight rules (IFR), with three Garmin GI 275 electronic flight instruments, a Garmin GNS 430 GPS/NAV/COM, and a Garmin GFC 500 autopilot.

Renters must hold a valid EASA pilot licence and medical certificate. Those flying outside the Netherlands must also have an FAA pilot certificate, and all renters are required to complete a checkout flight with the company’s instructor. Rates and aircraft availability are provided on request.

The Y44 name reflects the airport’s history. Its predecessor, Advanced Landing Ground Y-44, was built by the US Ninth Air Force in 1945 and used by American reconnaissance squadrons and B-26 Marauders before the site was handed over to the Netherlands and developed into Maastricht Aachen Airport.
