Yahat

The Israeli Association for Creative Arts Therapies (YAHAT) plays a pivotal role in promoting and regulating the creative arts therapies profession in Israel since its inception in 1971. YAHAT supports a diverse range of therapy modalities, including visual arts therapy, bibliotherapy, dance-movement therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, and psychodrama. With approximately 7,000 therapists practicing nationwide, YAHAT ensures that its members are well-equipped to provide high-quality therapy through various means, including private sessions and group therapies.

As part of its commitment to professional development, YAHAT collaborates with six colleges and two universities to deliver master's degree programs in creative arts therapies. This training prepares approximately 350 graduates annually to address therapeutic needs across educational and healthcare settings, particularly within the Ministry of Education and adult hospitals. Despite ongoing regulatory challenges regarding official recognition, YAHAT continues to advocate for its members and enhance the visibility and efficacy of creative arts therapies throughout Israel.
