Yamaguchi Bicycles is the handcrafted bicycle frame brand of Koichi Yamaguchi, a master frame builder with more than 40 years of experience. The company specializes in high-performance bicycles, with frames built for Olympic athletes, professional cyclists, and world champions. Its approach emphasizes personal craftsmanship: Koichi believes a frameset’s character comes from having one person work on it from start to finish.
The range includes custom framesets for road, cyclocross, tandem, time-trial, and track riding, with options such as aero road, pursuit, and kilo designs. Yamaguchi Bicycles also offers components, including stems and time-trial bars, as well as accessories. Its website provides information about frame options, pricing, the company’s history, and the athletes who have ridden its bicycles.
The brand also operates the Yamaguchi Bicycle Frame Building School. Students can learn to build framesets and stems by hand under Koichi’s instruction. Courses are hands-on, offer one-on-one guidance, and are limited to three students, supporting focused training in traditional frame-building craft.
