YAN

The Yass Area Network of Landcare Groups (YAN) is dedicated to fostering a strong community focused on biodiversity, productive landscapes, and climate resilience. Established in 1996, YAN connects various local Landcare groups, including Bowning/Bookham, Murrumbateman, Sutton, and Yass Landcare groups, to collaborate with regional, government, and industry stakeholders on environmental initiatives. Their mission encompasses the development of sustainable practices, habitat restoration projects, and pest animal management strategies.

YAN offers a range of services, including native plant nurseries, community involvement through membership, and educational resources to promote climate-wise planting. Notable projects such as the Habitat Linkages and Climate Ready Revegetation initiatives enhance local ecosystems and encourage biodiversity. The network provides valuable resources for land management and emergency climate response, positioning itself as a vital force in landcare advocacy in the Yass region.
