Yana Alpacas Ltd is a family-run alpaca breeder based at Hawthorn Farm in Ripley, Surrey. Established after its owners discovered alpacas in 2017, the business focuses on breeding high-quality black Huacaya alpacas, with careful attention to pedigree, colour, conformation and fibre quality. Its herd includes 26 alpacas, and the breeding programme aims to improve the herd’s genetics over time.
Yana Alpacas offers alpacas for sale, including animals suitable for customers looking to establish or develop a breeding herd. The company also shares information to help people keep alpacas, covering husbandry, nutrition and facilities, and provides guidance for those planning to build their own farm. Its website features photographs of the herd and invites prospective buyers to make an enquiry.
Yana Alpacas is a member of the British Alpaca Society, and the company states that its animals are registered with the society, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The breeders note that alpacas can live alongside horses, sheep or goats and may help protect them from foxes
