Yacht Club Locarno (YCLO) is a nonprofit, nonpolitical and nonreligious association dedicated to developing sailing through education, participation and sport. Its activities focus particularly on sailing courses and regattas. The club currently has no premises or direct access to the lake, so it cannot offer dinghy sailing courses for children and young people. However, it owns two mOcean keelboats through the Sailbox system, which are available to members.
YCLO offers active and passive membership. Active members hold a Swiss boating licence and can vote at the General Assembly; passive members support the club. Membership fees for 2026 are CHF 180 for an individual active member, CHF 190 for an active family, and CHF 100 for an individual passive member. The club also organizes accompanied outings using its mOcean boats, with activities scheduled for 2026. Through its membership, boat access and sailing events, YCLO provides opportunities for people to support and take part in sailing around Locarno.
