Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative (YEDI) is an adolescent health organization that aims to educate, empower, and inspire youth and community development in Nigeria. Established in 2011, YEDI has successfully impacted over 300,000 young individuals in schools and community sites across multiple states in Nigeria, including Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Akwa-Ibom, Ogun, and Rivers.

Their evidence-based programs are designed to build the assets of young people, provide access to health services, and promote healthy behaviors. YEDI employs a unique model that trains young adult mentors aged 10-35 as community change agents. Using football metaphors and activities, these mentors implement age-appropriate and gender-sensitive curricula, effectively engaging youth and breaking down cultural barriers.

YEDI collaborates with Grassroot Soccer (GRS), an adolescent health organization, as an implementing partner. YEDI coaches are trained in GRS's SKILLZ program, which combines soccer-based activities with critical health information on topics such as sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, and gender-based violence.
