About Yellow Flag
The Yellow Flag Programme is an initiative that focuses on interculturalism, equality, and diversity in schools. It provides a practical series of 8 steps that integrate these issues into the entire school program, allowing schools to implement them in their day-to-day operations. The programme collaborates with students, staff, management, parents, and community groups to ensure that diversity and equality are not just subjects within the school but are understood and applied to everyone's personal lives.
Similar to the Green Schools Programme, the Yellow Flag Programme is an award scheme. Schools that successfully complete the 8 steps and undergo external evaluation are awarded the Yellow Flag as recognition for their efforts in promoting diversity and inclusion. This award is proudly publicized in the local community, and schools can proudly display their flag and logo on official correspondence.
The 8 steps of the Yellow Flag Programme include various stages such as forming a diversity committee, conducting an intercultural review, developing an action plan, and incorporating diversity into classroom work. By participating in the Yellow Flag Programme, schools actively contribute to creating a more inclusive and accepting educational environment
