Yellow Mongoose

Yellow Mongoose is the creative-services brand of Michele Facco, a freelance editor, editorial consultant, translator and game designer specializing in genre fiction and role-playing games. With more than eight years of experience and a background in nuclear physics, Facco brings a detail-focused approach to narrative structure, consistency and worldbuilding. He works remotely with authors, publishers and game designers in Italy and abroad, tailoring each project to its needs.

Services include light and in-depth editing, proofreading, manuscript assessments, narrative coaching, worldbuilding and guidance on writing and publication. Yellow Mongoose also provides editorial translation between Italian and English, with attention to tone, genre and cultural context, as well as game-design consultations on mechanics, audience and project identity.

The brand’s first role-playing game, Amici di Sempre, is a diceless, masterless game for two to six players about intimate evenings among longtime friends. Yellow Mongoose also offers a free browser-based manuscript check that flags potential formal errors and readability issues; submitted text stays in the user’s browser.
