About YFU Lithuania
YFU Lithuania invites you to embark on an adventure! YFU is an international organization that facilitates long-term international exchanges for students aged 15-18. With over 60 educational exchange programs worldwide, YFU offers a wide range of experiences in your dream country. The history of YFU dates back to 1951 in the USA when it was established to heal the wounds of World War II.
The organization aimed to bring German youth out of despair by allowing them to live with American host families and attend local schools for a year. This vision was realized by Rachel Andersen, the founder of YFU. YFU Lithuania began its student exchanges in collaboration with the Open Lithuania Fund and officially became an organization in 2000.
YFU values lifelong learning, diversity, volunteerism, collaboration, and care for individuals.
