About YICE Uganda
Youth Initiative for Community Empowerment (YICE) is a not-for-profit social organization in Uganda that focuses on providing rural smallholder farmers with access to regenerative agricultural training, flexible financial services, and permaculture practices to alleviate hunger and poverty. Officially established in 2012, YICE works with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bukompe and neighboring host communities in Kassanda district. Their programs include the Regenerative Learning Center, Regenerative Farming (RE-Farm), Mobile Drip Irrigation System, and Ecological & Permaculture initiatives.
YICE aims to create a sustainable environment where vulnerable smallholder farmers and their families can thrive. Over the years, YICE has been recognized with awards like the Spring Prize award in 2019, the Ashden Regenerative Awards in 2021, and the UNDP Climate Smart Challenge in 2020.
