Ymparistoterveyden Asiantuntijat

Ympäristöterveyden Asiantuntijat ry is a Finnish association for environmental health professionals and others working to influence the field. It represents members in national working and planning groups and collaborates with relevant ministries and central government agencies. The association contributes to the development and implementation of environmental health legislation, guidance and oversight programmes by submitting statements on proposed changes, plans and instructions.

Education and professional exchange are central to its work. The association helps organize training events, including the long-running National Study and Negotiation Days for Environmental Health, which bring professionals together from across Finland. It also participates in the activities of the publishers of Ympäristö ja Terveys and Elintarvike ja Terveys magazines. Members can join a private Facebook group to follow discussions, comment on draft statements and connect with peers. Membership is open through the association’s website, with a reduced fee for students. Members may also receive either magazine at no charge.
