Yomisho

Yomiuri Ikuei Scholarship Association supports students pursuing higher education through a scholarship program backed by the Yomiuri Shimbun. Its scheme is presented as an option that helps students attend university or vocational school without the worry of repaying a conventional student loan. Participants combine their studies with work, and the association provides information to help them understand the duties, working conditions, and daily routines involved before applying.

The association guides prospective students through the application process and offers resources on eligible schools, student life, and study options both in the Tokyo metropolitan area and elsewhere in Japan. Its website features interviews with current and former scholarship students, examples of a typical day, and information about annual events arranged to support participants. Students can request materials, check schedules for in-person or online information sessions, and contact the association with questions. The association also welcomes inquiries from students who are already enrolled, as well as those beginning to explore their options during their first or second year of high school.
