About York Art Gallery
York Museums Trust is an independent charitable trust that was formed in August 2002 to manage the museums and gallery service previously run by the City of York Council. With the support of the Council, York Museums Trust is responsible for the management of several iconic venues in York, including York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens, and York St Mary’s. These venues offer a diverse range of exhibitions and events, showcasing the rich history, art, and culture of the region.
