The York Pioneer and Historical Society (YPHS) is Ontario’s oldest historical society, founded on April 17, 1869, when a group of men gathered at Toronto’s Mechanics’ Institute. Based in Toronto, the society is dedicated to preserving the past for the future and sharing local history with the public.
