Yöstäjä

Yöstäjä is a Finnish creative writing association that introduces people of all ages to words, stories and literary arts. It promotes shared, participatory creativity and supports reading and writing, with particular attention to children and young people. Its services include creative writing workshops, training and content for events, as well as projects and literacy work. Workshops are designed to help participants discover that everyone can create with words, and the association also provides teaching activities and materials developed by its literary arts educators.

Yöstäjä offers continuing education tailored to the needs of workplaces, associations and businesses. It supports creative writing as a hobby, including groups in the Tampere region, and shares information and resources about literary arts education. The association also organises events throughout the year, including Kirjalitta, a family-friendly children’s book and literary arts festival held in Tampere. Its activities include writing competitions and Sanataidesanomat, a publication featuring news and topics related to its projects and events. Yöstäjä welcomes people interested in learning, teaching or enjoying literary arts.
