YouJitsu is the coaching and guidance practice founded by Brian van Miltenburg, an experienced martial artist with dan grades in judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and extensive experience in grappling and mixed martial arts. He has supported recreational and competitive athletes, helping them prepare for matches and participate more comfortably in training by working through fears and insecurities together.
Beyond sport, YouJitsu supports people who feel stuck in aspects of their lives. Its guidance combines practical assistance with personal development, helping clients regain a sense of control and direction. The approach is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with emphasis on personal contact and connecting with each client’s perspective and experience. Support is offered at a location associated with Den Bosch BJJ or on an outreach basis.
Activities may include using sport as a tool, practical support, help with conversations involving agencies, guided discussions, insight-building exercises, relaxation exercises, or simply taking time for a coffee and conversation. YouJitsu describes its coaching style as active, practical, down-to-earth, humorous, and empathetic.
